General Information
In 1963 Volleyball was first introduced on the Maltese sporting scene through the then Government's 'Sport for All' programme. The Malta Volleyball Association was officially Founded in 1973.

Present number of categories - 10 (Males & Females: Seniors, Under-19,
Under-16, Under-14, Mini Volley Festivals)
Number of teams Season 2005/6 - 35 (13 Male teams & 22 Female teams)
Number of registered players - 400
Number of registered officials - 37 (15 Coaches, 22 Bench Officials)
